Cass County Sheriff's Office deputies have identified 72-year-old Connie Dillon, Pleasant Hill, as the man who died after becoming trapped in a residential water Thursday evening.

Deputies, along with fire and rescue crews were called to a home in the area of 22600 S. Dillon Rd., near the intersection of E. 229th Street and M Highway at about 5:20 p.m. April 3, based on a report that a man was possibly in a well.

Spokesman Lt. Kevin Tieman said Dillon was determined to be unresponsive upon arrival.

Tieman said the well was about 30 feet deep and the waterline was more than 10 feet below the opening.

East Lynne and Harrisonville fire departments assisted deputies with the rescue.

Investigators are working to determine how long the victim may have been in the well.

No foul play in the incident is suspected at this time, but the Jackson County Medical Examiner Office is working to determine the victim's cause of death.

Note: Although the address of the incident is just north of Gunn City and south of Strasburg, the residence was located within the postal zip code of Pleasant Hill, therefore the victim is listed as a Pleasant Hill resident.
