East Lynne

• East Lynne Fire Department had two medicals and a grass fire this week. The men got to use the new engine that was purchased. Chief Jackie Groblebe went to get the new lettering put on, when the hail hit Harrisonville area, so the lettering company closed down early.

• Happy birthday to Mildred James who turned 90. She had a very nice birthday party given in her honor.

• East Lynne Elementary will have a Kindergarten Screening and Round-Up on Friday, April 12. Parents with children who will be 5 before Aug. 1 may call the school at 816-626-3511 to schedule an appointment. We will begin at 9 a.m. with the last appointment at 3 p.m. The following items are required for enrollment: Child’s State Certified Birth Certificate, Child’s Current Immunization record, Child’s Social Security Card, Legal proof of custody in special circumstances and Missouri Eye Examination Form.

• Happy birthday to Damon Cox, Daryan King, Amanda and Ashleigh Rushly, Jim Sims, Christina Langsdale, Breanna Curtis and Masie Stuby.

• Happy Anniversary to Steve and Sharon Wright.

West Line

• West Line Christian Church is working on its Easter Program. The Ladies Aide had the monthly meeting after church March 30.

• Congratulations to the four Midway junior girls, Taylor Pierce, Tessa Mills, Laine Mills and Dee Stark, who were accepted to attend Missouri Girls’ State. It will be in June at University of Central Missouri-Warrensburg.

• Midway’s first T/F meet will be an Invitational at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. Midway Combo T/F meet (JH/HS) will be Friday, April 11. Prom will be Saturday, April 12.

• Students of the month are Hunter Goddard, kindergarten; Trenton Siemens, second grade; Keelyn McCuiston, first grade; Ben Madsion, fourth grade; Colton Price, fifth grade; Kotlin McCuiston, sixth grade; and Andrew Carver, third grade.

• Happy Birthday: Grace Kirby, Bailey Dean, Nancy Richardson 4th, Amy Scott, Glendon Ullery, Gregg Gilbert 5th, Stacie Kinney 6th, Tom Irvin 9th, Daryl Cook 10th.
