DREXEL PROPOSITION NO. 2 - 100 percent reporting

Shall the Board of Education of the Drexel R-IV School District, without an estimated increase in the current debt service property tax levy, borrow money in the amount of $2 million for the purpose of providing funds to complete energy efficiency improvements including heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades; to expand the gymnasium through the north wall for the installation of additional bleachers; to the extent funds are available to complete renovations of the cafeteria and kitchen; to construct, equip and furnish an addition for storage and office space; and to complete other remodeling, renovation, and repair improvements to the existing facilities of the district, and issue bonds for the payment thereof.

If the proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.9672 per $100 of assessed value of real and personal property.

Passage requires 57 percent approval.

Shall The Board of Education if the East Lynne School District of Cass County be authorized to eliminate fully the Proposition C Sales Tax Rollback in its operating levy in order to provide additional funds to retain the preschool program and qualified staff, maintain its facilities and meet operating expenses.

If approved, the proposition could increase the district’s adjusted operating levy from $4.0928 to $4.6869 per $100 of assessed valuation for the current tax year.

A simple majority approval is required for passage.
