Ray-Pec Fine Arts Department to Present Neil Simon’s ‘The Good Doctor’

The Raymore-Peculiar Theatre Department announces its production of “The Good Doctor.” The Ray-Pec High School performances of the play will be at 7:30 p.m. April 10-12 and at 2:30 p.m. April 13 in the Academy Theatre at the south high school.

“The Good Doctor” takes place in late 1800s Russia. The play is divided into short comedic vignettes about a range of issues that affected Russia at that time. Most of the scenes are adaptations of several of Anton Chekov’s short stories that highlight the class distinctions of the time period.

The high school cast includes Ian Fleming as Narrator and Kuryatin, Noah Ball as Ivan Cherdyakov and Sailor, Austin Moulder as General Brassilhov and Navy, Taylor Koper as Madame Brassilhov, Kylee Reichman as Ivan’s Wife, Jasmine Nissanka as Julia, Ryanne Linn as Mistress, Chad Byous as Sexton, Nick Schneider as Old Man and Army, Cami Bessette as Old Woman, Mattathias Davis as Peter, Madilynn Mansur as Wife, Jordan Gregory as Husband, Lacey Duley as Client, Luke Broste as Policeman, Julienne Graebner as Girl, Brock Masters as Kistunov, Mady Quest as Woman, and Christian Sword as Assistant.

Working behind the scenes are teacher Kelly Freeland as the director and teacher Karla Penechar as the scenic designer and technical director. The stage manager is Kylee Reichman. Andrea Shaw is the master carpenter and master electrician. The sound engineer is Austin Loar. Props Master is Ryanne Linn. Hair and Make-up Chief is Julienne Graebner, and Costume Chief is Kylee Reichman. House Manager is Guin Wright.

Reservations for the show may be made by calling the ticket reservation line 816-892-3999 extension 2400. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Children under age 5 will not be admitted. Free child care will be provided.
