East Lynne

• East Lynne Fire Department had the monthly Board meeting April 14. There was a medical call and some electric line down and a transformer that blew April 13.

• Crystal and Armando Gonzalez had a huge crowd at Pearson Hall for Samara’s 3rd birthday April 13. The theme was Doc McStuffins and the kids loved playing doctor on a facial bed borrowed from Brandy Jones. The highlight of the party was a bet between Brandy and Brecken on a giant cupcake. She wanted to smear it in Brecken’s face and he said sure for $20. And she creamed his face. Awsome video and pictures.

• Sympathy goes out to Hollie Abernathy and Jaurie Wells on the passing of Hollie’s mother JP Danielson this past week.

• Sympathy goes out to Ginger and Jim Holt on the passing of Ginger’s daughter Erin (Jones) Vanacker.

• Map testing will start when the kids return to school after Easter Break on Wednesday, April 23. Friday, May 23, will be the last day of school for this school year.

• Happy birthday to Jessica Cox, Vannessa Conger, Aaron White, Kim Bevan, Armando Gonzalez, John Stuby and Nathan Rushly, Nicole Reed, Gayle Hayward, Madilynne Kiff, Travis Burkhart, Ashlynne Click, Amber Bearce, Diane Brown, Peyton Richtner, Layla Hyatt, Jordin Dedrick and Nella Chamberlan.

West Line

• West Line Christian Church celebrated Palm Sunday. The primary class is working on an Easter book about Jesus’ life leading up to the day of the crucifixion and then what happened after. There will be Sunrise Service at Freeman. Some of the congregation from West Line will be there. There will be a program about Easter at 10:30a.m. Sunday, April 20, at WLCC.

• Barry and Carla Lyon, along with Zac Clary, had a birthday party for Zac’s daughter, Isabelle Clary. She turned 5 this year.

• I went and picked up my granddaughters, Abby and Emma, in Harrisonville to come spend the night with me. Before we headed back to West Line, we picked up their brother.

• Midway’s 2014 prom, Moonlight and Roses, was April 12 at the Van Noy mansion in Kansas City. Midway seniors Bobby Zielinski and Miranda Dahman were crowned 2014 Prom King and Queen.

• Midway Letterman Club had its first annual Mr. Viking contest. The pageant featured high-school boys and coach Larry Burchett competing in formal wear, swimsuit, talent and a question-and-answer portion. Mr. Viking took place at 7 p.m. April 17 in the little gym. The Master of Ceremonies was Pat Irvin and the music was provided by CJ Chamberlin. Monday, April 21, track and field JR Viking Relays (JH/9th coed) Midway, Tuesday, April 22, T&F Whirlwind Invitational at Archie. At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, Basketball Reception. At 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24, T&F JH Adrian Invitational, At 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, T&F Barstow Invitational.

• Happy Birthday: Jason Lyon 18th, Andy Hillman, Robert Young 20th, Bill Fort, Ronnie Fort 21st.

• Happy Anniversary: Robert and Lois Young, Jesi and Christine 22nd.
