Panthers taking part in Baseball Blue Out fund-raiser

April 18, 2014

The Raymore-Peculiar and Lee’s Summit West baseball teams are joining forces to host the third annual Baseball Blue Out fund-raiser for the Never Ever Give Up Children’s Cancer Foundation on April 21 at Lee’s Summit West High School.

The event begins with an opening ceremony at 4:15 p.m., followed by the game at 4:45. The opening ceremony will include guest speaker Kaitlin Sandeno, a three-time Olympic Gold Medalist swimmer and spokesperson of the NEGU Foundation, a balloon launch and drawings for prizes.

Ray-Pec will honor the memory of DeAnn Wehmeyer, mother of Panthers senior Turner Wehmeyer. DeAnn lost her battle with kidney cancer last summer.

There is a long list of raffle prizes, including a 50-inch Sanyo TV, an outdoor grill from Lowe’s ($300 value), a tuxedo rental from Tip Top Tux, three-month membership to Anytime Fitness, a baseball signed by Royals catcher Salvador Perez, and many restaurant and business gift certificates.

Raffle tickets may be purchased for $2 each or three tickets for $5. You need not be present to win. Tickets will be sold at varsity home games through April 21.

Tickets for the game cost $3 for adults and $2 for students. All proceeds will benefit the Never Ever Give Up Children’s Cancer Foundation.
