RP students win Father’s Day essay contest

Five Ray-Pec students were winners in the 2014 Kansas City Father of the Year essay contest, sponsored by the National Center for Fathering.

Junior Devin Hudson was the overall winner for 11th grade. Juniors Brandi Bivens and Josh Scribner were runners up for 11th grade.

Sophomore Alexa Taylor was a runner up for 10th grade.

Creekmoor Elementary School student Sophie Frazier was a runner up for third grade.

All winners and runners up will be individually recognized and asked to read their essays at the June 10 Celebration of Fatherhood at Kauffman Stadium.

Each father of these students has an opportunity to be selected as 2014 Father of the Year.
