Farmers markets prepare to open

A few Farmer Markets across Cass County open Saturday, May 3.

Juicy tomatoes, crunchy cucumbers and eared sweet corn are just a few favorites cropping up soon at area farmers markets around Cass County.

The upcoming season, which begins this month in Cass County, will feature at least six weekly markets featuring dozens of local food growers.

Here is a listing of farmers markets throughout Cass County:

Belton Farmers Market

Note: Available selection will vary by growing season and by vendor. Over the course of the season, market will include entertainment ranging from musical acts, free fitness classes and instructional gardening workshops.

Raymore’s Original Town Farmers Market is operated by the Raymore Parks and Recreation Department and the city of Raymore. A Market Manager will be on-site from 3-7 p.m. on days of market operations. The market is open to anyone, but vendors must register with the market and sell only home-grown produce or homemade products.
