Ray-Pec announces Teacher, Support Staff Employee of the Year

Kris Schuler, sixth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Eagle Glen Intermediate School, Raymore, is the 2014 Teacher of the Year for the Ray-Pec School District.

Scott Dobson, the district electrician in the Buildings and Grounds Department, is the 2014 Support Staff Employee of the Year for the district.

The announcement of both awards came during the May 7 dinner to honor the finalists for each award. At the conclusion of the event, banners were unrolled to announce the two winners.

Schuler has worked 17 years in the Ray-Pec School District, with 14 years teaching sixth grade. She also was an instructional coach for three years in the district.

Dobson is a Ray-Pec High School graduate and has worked for the district for six years.

As the winners, Schuler and Dobson each received a $500 cash award from George K. Baum & Co., banners for their schools/departments, business cards from the Cass Gazette, gift baskets and gift certificates from Title Boxing. Their photos will be on display at the Administrative Services Center. In addition, Schuler receives a Teacher of the Year ring from Jostens and a gift basket from Office Depot.

Schuler, Dobson and all of the finalists received a plaque and a goody bag with gifts, coupons, and other items donated by local businesses.
