A new website for Cass County is underway.

The Cass County Commission unanimously approved a motion to accept the qualifications of Civic Plus to upgrade the website at their June 12 meeting.

The county received five requests for qualifications for the project.

Civic Plus, a Manhattan, Kan.-based company, offers website design services and hosting for several local governments in Missouri, including the cities of Belton, Branson and Wildwood, and Buchanan County.

“I am happy to see that we will finally be upgrading the county website,” Presiding Commissioner Jeff Cox said. “Our current website is based on a decades-old platform and is in dire need of an overhaul.”

Cox said that new website will include functionality that will allow the county government to start recording Commission meetings and making them available for viewing online.

The upgrade will also give more access to the individual office holders and department heads to manage and update the content on their individual pages.

“I am very excited about this opportunity for us to bring even more transparency to County government and improve access to public information,” Cox added.
