Paul “Butch” Wayne Willoughby

June 18, 1963 - June 30, 2014

Paul “Butch” Wayne Willoughby, 51, an oil pipeline employee, died at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kan., Monday, June 30, 2014. He was born June 18, 1963, in Ft. Belvoir, Va., to James and Freda “Anderson” Willoughby. He was a 1981 graduate of Harrisonville High School. Paul “Got Hooked” on fishing at a young age, going out with his dad and brother and enjoyed many times on El Dorado Lake.

Paul is survived by his mother Freda; siblings Sonja McLanahan (Michael) and James E. Willoughby (Carrie); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his father James on June 9, 2010; his grandparents Ed and Louise Anderson, Artie Sebring and Chester Willoughby.

There was a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. July 12 at First Christian Church with Pastor Stan Seymour officiating.

Honorary casket bearers were Chris Bowlin, Don Tuder, Vince Regenua, Tony Alfro, Michael Ball, Brad Moller, Eric Vassholz, Gene Moell and Doug Knox.

Memorial donations may be made in Paul’s name to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 N. Market, Wichita, Kan., or First Christian Church Foundation, 300 W. Central Ave., El Dorado, Kan.

Clint Thomas Cumpton, 48, of Urich, was born in Clinton, the son of Thomas Cumpton and Karen Cumpton Hagerman. He died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. Funeral services were July 12 at Urich Baptist Church with burial in Dayton Cemetery.

Merl Duane Jones, of Peculiar, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore.

Robert “Rob” Lee Briggs

Aug. 3, 1957 - July 10, 2014

Robert “Rob” Lee Briggs, 56, of Cleveland, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Meadowview of Harrisonville Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. July 13 at Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman. Contributions may be made to Freeman Baptist Church, Freeman.

Rob was born Aug. 3, 1957, in Kansas City, to Wilbur Dale and Evelyn Joan (Getty) Briggs. He was a lifelong Freeman-Cleveland resident. Rob was a 1975 graduate of Cass Midway High School in Cleveland. He was a member of Harley Owner Group (HOG) and was a member of Freeman Baptist Church. He was the owner of Rob’s Brokerage Service in Cleveland.

Rob was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Briggs, and his sister, Dale Ann Fugate.

He is survived by one son, Air Force Tech Sergeant Robert Briggs II and his wife, Brandy, of Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Okla.; his father, Wilbur Briggs of Freeman; brothers Larry “Peanut” Briggs and wife, Dana, Peculiar; and John Briggs and wife, Diana, Freeman; a sister, Brenda Lavery and husband, Ron, of Freeman; two granddaughters, Reaghan and Ryleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

There was a graveside service for Tina at 10 a.m. July 17 at Rosehill Cemetery, near LaTour, with Rev. Kent Deubner officiating. The family received friends July 16 at Wallace Funeral Home.
