Twin Pines Lady Golfers

On July 28, four Twin Pines ladies traveled to Carl Junction for the 77th Annual Tri-State Tournament. The three-day event welcomed 130 plus women from Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma for a practice round and two days of competition. Ginger Milner, Harrisonville, represented Twin Pines in the winner’s circle, having placed in her flight. Others attending were Donna Davis-Hotchkiss, Karen Moul and Sis Swigart.

For the month of August, the ladies had a beautiful, cool Tuesday for the first day of the tournament, then Wednesday brought a much-needed steady rain during their final round. The golfers ignored the rain and persevered.

Golfers from Twin Pines have been participating in this tournament since the Twin Pines Ladies Golf Association was formed in the early ’70s. When they first joined, they were the farthest northern course in the Tri-State area and have kept their membership since that time.
