Patricia Diane Gilbert, 50, of Drexel, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at her home. Memorial services were Aug. 12 at First Baptist Church in Cleveland.


Patricia was born Nov. 9, 1963, in Wichita, Kan., the daughter of Walton Cody and Beverly Ann (McGuire) Gilbert.

William Jennings Bryan Davis, Jr.

Aug. 8, 1937 - Aug. 6, 2014

William Jennings Bryan Davis, Jr., 76, of Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at his home in Harrisonville. No services are scheduled. A private burial will be in Wills Cemetery in Peculiar.

William was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Harrisonville, the son of William J. B. and Alice Dean (Taylor) Davis. He attended Peculiar High School. William married Gertie M. Brown on Oct. 2, 1959. He had lived in Belton for 34 years and Peculiar for 22 years before moving to Harrisonville. William had worked for Jack Hansen Overland Hauling, Inc., as a truck driver.

William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gertie, on Nov. 23, 2005, and one sister, Francie Mae Davis.

He is survived by two sons, Bryan Davis, Arizona, and Terry Davis and his wife, Angie, Kingsville; two daughters, Donna Albright, Raymore, and Kathy Crick and her husband, Jon, Independence; one brother, Harold Davis and his wife, Marietta, Freeman; one sister, Mary Lou VanVleet, Osceola; and three grandchildren, Dillon, Delaney and Donovan Davis.

James Gilbert Dickenson

Oct. 8, 1934 - Aug. 6, 2014

James Gilbert Dickenson died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Clinton.

He was born Oct. 8, 1934. James was the youngest of 13 children born to Charles Alvin and Grace (Bartshe) Dickenson. He was raised on the family farm near Hermitage. James married Karen J. Quick on Feb. 14, 1959. The couple raised their five children in Blairstown.

He is survived by his wife Karen, daughters Jean Antes (Mark), Vicki Sweitzer (Chris), Grace Shumate (Mike Gibson) and son Stewart Dickenson (Sonja). James has 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Robert Dickenson (Oma) and numerous nieces and nephews. James is preceded in death by one daughter, Jamie Huber, eight brothers and three sisters.

James enjoyed visiting his family in Hermitage, fishing, playing cards and coon hunting. Over the years, he was employed by Butler Mfg. in Kansas City, Royal Industries in Holden, Kelsey Feed and Grain in Urich, and Sherwood Cass R8 School in Creighton.

There will be no public funeral services. A private Celebration of Life is planned.

Clover Leann Goins

Clover Leann Goins was born into the arms of Angels on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.

Graveside inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Raymore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samantha Goins to aid with medical expenses.

Clover Leann is the beloved daughter of Samantha Goins. She also is survived by sister, Liliana; grandparents, Ruth Matthew, Glynis Arnall, Candy Fairbanks and David Goins; great grandfather, Robert Goins; aunts, Jeni Goins and Karen Goins-Wagner; Godmother, Whitney Stephenson; and many great aunts and uncles.

Larry Jay Sanders

Dec. 14, 1934 - Aug. 9, 2014

Larry Jay Sanders, 79, of Drexel, was born Dec. 14, 1934, in Kansas City, the son of Perry Marshall and Mildred (Morris) Sanders. He died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at his home.

On June 19, 1954, Larry was united in marriage to Sharon Lee Snow.

Larry was a licensed plumber and owned and operated Sanders Backhow Service in Peculiar until his retirement in 1990. He had lived Peculiar before moving to Drexel.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Sanders, on Oct. 25, 2012; three sisters, Juanita Hayden, Bernice Sterling and Mary Jane Penrose.

Larry is survived by four children, Larry Sanders, Hermitage, Shari Ismert, Peculiar, Rhonda Lovejoy and husband Tim, Archie, and Mike Sanders and wife Joyce, Drexel; nine grandchildren, Celina, Renee, Sasha, Amanda, Justin, Jessica, Gage, Josie and Colten; eight great-grandchildren, Baileigh, Morgan, Chloe, Taryn, Felecia, Gavin, Abbi and Brody; and a brother, Perry Lee Sanders, Peculiar.

Cremation. A private family inurnment will be at West Union Cemetery near Peculiar at a later date.

Robert Samuel Nicoll

Sept. 12, 1929 - Aug. 10, 2014

Robert Samuel Nicoll, 84, of Harrisonville, was born in Guilford County, N.C., the son of Samuel Robert and Bertha (Moss) Nicoll. He died at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville.

Robert was an Army veteran.

Cremation. A private family inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Grain Valley, at a later date.
