Robert “Andy” Andersen

Aug. 23 1931 - Aug. 7, 2014

Robert “Andy” Andersen, 82, of Lone Jack, was born in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Marius Theodore and Ellen Krystine (Christensen) Andersen. He died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at his home surrounded by love and family.

Andy was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War serving honorably from 1947 until 1953. He received two Purple Hearts, Korean ribbon four-star and the President Unit Citation star among many others.

He was an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 3118, Pleasant Hill, for the past 15 years and served faithfully on the Honor Guard. He also was a member of American Legion, Lee’s Summit.

Funeral services were Aug. 12 at the funeral home. Pastor Jon Gruen officiated. The Final Salute Ceremony was conducted by the members of VFW Post No. 3118. Graveside military services and interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps and the V.F.W. Post No. 3118 Honor guard.

Jason A. McCale, 44, of Harrisonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014.

Jason is survived by his wife, his father, two sisters, other relatives and friends.

Cremation. There was a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at Cornerstone Community Church, 1704 Waters Rd., Harrisonville, MO 64701.

William C. “Bill” Driskill

April 14, 1917 - Aug. 14, 2014

William Curran “Bill” Driskill, 97, of Belton, formerly of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Perry, Iowa, was born in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. He died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Carnegie Village Assisted Living Center in Belton.

Cremation. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the funeral home.

Dominic K. Smith was born into God’s loving care Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, the son of Ronnie and Crystal Smith, II, of Independence.

Funeral services for Dominic were at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, in Mt. Washington Cemetery, 614 S. Brookside Ave., Independence, MO 64053.

Amy L. Sneed

Nov. 1, 1921 - Aug. 14, 2014

Amy Louise Sneed, 92, of Pleasant Hill, was born in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Ferd and Lottie (Kincaid) Simon. She died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at John Knox Village Hospice Care Center. Graveside funeral services and interment were Aug. 20 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pastor Todd MacLean officiated.

Ida Pauline Clevenger

Ida Pauline Clevenger, 89, of Harrisonville, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at her home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Cass Career Center FFA, 1600 E. Elm St., Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Pauline was born in Springfield, the daughter of Ira M. and Flora B. (Chastain) Dodson. She attended schools in Springfield, Republic and Ash Grove. She graduated from Louisburg, Mo., High School in 1942. She moved to Kansas City, Kan., where she worked at the North American Aviation Plant during WWII. Pauline was united in marriage to Norman Lee Creek in 1946.

Pauline was united in marriage to Claton Clevenger in 1963. They had lived in Kansas City, Kan., Iowa and Belton before moving to Harrisonville in 2002. She worked for B.M.A. and Gulf Insurance for 10 years as an accounting clerk until her retirement in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Norman Creek and Claton Clevenger; two brothers, Lloyd and Loran Dodson and one sister, Iva (Dodson) Fergus. She is survived by one daughter, Norma Hibner of Pleasant Hill; one son, Don Creek and wife, Carol of Peculiar; stepsons, Bill Clevenger and wife, Marie, Harrisonville, and Cla Clevenger and wife, Eloise of Kansas City; stepdaughters, Beverly Byrd and husband, Don of Harrisonville, Mary Lou Murphy and husband, Barry of Garden City; one brother, Jim Dodson and wife, Louise of San Bernardino, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael Dale Warner

Michael “Mike” Dale Warner, 54, of Springfield, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in Springfield. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, with visitation 1-2 p.m. at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Mike was born Dec. 23, 1959, in Centerview, Ill., the son of Noble Glenn and Alta Faye (Osborn) Warner. He was a 1978 graduate of Harrisonville High School. He had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Springfield. Mike installed lawn sprinkler and irrigation systems in the Springfield and Branson areas.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Noble, and an infant daughter, Amanda Warner.

He is survived by two sons, Joshua Warner of California and Caleb Warner of Hepler, Kan.; one daughter, Ashley Warner of Pittsburg, Kan.; his mother, Faye Warner, Harrisonville; four brothers, Noble Warner and Rick Warner, both of Buffalo, and Ron Warner and Shawn Warner, both of Harrisonville, and one sister, Diane May, Harrisonville.

Priscilla was born in Paia, Maui, and moved to Raytown in 1971.

Cynthia Kay Smith, 68, of Harrisonville, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville. Cynthia was born June 29, 1946, in Kansas City, the daughter of Raymond Reuben and Mary (Hayes) Stephens. She was a 1964 graduate of Harrisonville High School. Cynthia was united in marriage to Wayne Smith on Feb. 14, 1970, in Harrisonville, officiated by Pastor David Zeller. She was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. She had worked for AT&T in Lee’s Summit for 18 years, House of Lloyd in Grandview and Walmart in Harrisonville. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne, of the home; seven sons, Terry Smith, Belton, Gene Smith, Creighton, Shawn Smith, Raymore, Don Smith, Archie, Raymond Gilbert and Jay Smith, both of Archie, and Chad Smith, Harrisonville; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
