8-29 Letter to the Editor

August 29, 2014

Dear Editor:

On behalf of Hope Haven of Cass County staff, Board of Directors, and the many women and children “guests” who find safety within Hope Haven’s walls, I write in response to the article “Giving Back is the Elks’ Motto” (Local News Friday, Aug. 8, 2014). In unison we thank the Cass County Elks Lodge #2791 for their generosity and continued support of Hope Haven’s domestic and sexual violence program. As individuals and as an organization, the Cass County Elks are leaders among Hope Haven’s “Neighbors for Hope.”

Time and time again, members of the Cass County Elks Lodge have demonstrated a passion to support Hope Haven in all that we do. From providing sustenance to sponsoring fundraising events, from Santa Kenny to group volunteering – the Elks indeed “live” their give-back motto. They promote awareness of Hope Haven services and bring continued focus to the issues facing families in our community.

While there aren’t enough words of thanks in the world to tell Cass County Elks Lodge members how much we appreciate all that you do – we do thank you. For Hope Haven, having the support of our community is crucial to eradicating abuse and rape at all ages. For our community, Cass County Elks’ actions with schools, veterans, the under-served, and those who continue to serve, aid the success of all.

Again, Cass County Elks Lodge #2791 members, thank you! Many of us couldn’t do what we do without your continued support.

Linda Tessar, executive director
